Description

AHIP is seeking an energetic and skilled Development Associate for a full-time (onsite at least three full days per week) position in our Charlottesville, Virginia office. Reporting to and working closely with the Development Director (DD) and Development Manager (DM), the Associate will support day-to-day fundraising and marketing operations, while helping to strengthen and grow AHIP’s private fundraising efforts and outreach activities. This is primarily an onsite position, with at least three days per week in the office.

The Associate will:
*Assist with annual fund campaign management, including mail house coordination, collateral material production, and donor follow-up and acknowledgement
*Generate donor giving, stewardship, engagement, pipeline, and mailing reports
*Manage AHIP’s donor database in tandem with the DM, with duties including gift processing, monthly reconciliation of cash and in-kind gifts with the finance director, and delivery of acknowledgement letters
*Assist DM and DD in stewardship activities, including tracking grant/report deadlines and current application requirements, maintaining up-to-date data
*Participate in planning and organizing client tours, open house/ribbon-cutting events, and cultivation events
*Assist in planning and attending AHIP’s donor events
*Assist the DM with social media outreach, including Facebook, Twitter, and quarterly e-newsletter
*Assist DM in creating content that creatively and effectively conveys AHIP’s story
*Coordinate photo and video shoots of clients, volunteers, jobs, and special events; coordinate and catalogue client, board, and volunteer testimonials
*Maintain a current inventory of all AHIP marketing materials, including swag, printed materials, and Canva brand kit
*Attend weekly staff meetings and special company meetings
*Attend housing- and nonprofit-related community meetings, seminars, and social events as AHIP representative and spokesperson
*Assist DD in preparing for partnership meetings and board meetings and attend when asked

Skills Required

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
*One to two years in fundraising, marketing, and nonprofit experience
*Excellent organizational skills, project management capability, and attention to detail
*Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
*Comfort in communicating with a variety of stakeholders (AHIP clients, program staff, volunteers, nonprofit and for-profit partners, local government officials, civic and religious groups, board members, and donors)
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, presentation, and fundraising database software; proficiency in Bloomerang or other donor management software and Canva skills are a plus
*Fluency in social media and interest in identifying and harnessing new social media outlets
*Enthusiasm and passion for AHIP’s work in the community
*Ability to attend some weekend and evening events
*Ability to work well with a small team
*Willingness to perform other duties as assigned for the success of the organization
