Description
The Communications Intern (intern) will be an integral member of the development and communications team, and will take part in team and staff meetings when possible. By participating in many of the organization’s activities, the intern will learn about specific area nonprofit organizations, the community’s concerns and needs, and the developing characteristics of the national nonprofit sector. This position will enable the individual freedom to work on a variety of types of projects depending on her/his/their skill level and ability. He/she/they will learn general business protocol and apply research techniques.
CNE’s Development & Communications intern will provide support for grant research, online reporting of communications, social media communications, and online content creation. The intern will also provide support in the organization, planning and execution of special events, and in marketing efforts as needed. In addition, he/she/they will learn how to apply leading business practices, the importance of planning, and how to work in a professional environment engaging constituents at all levels—donors, volunteers, agencies, and professional staff. The intern will also have an opportunity to engage in projects appropriate to her/his/their interest (i.e. computer database management, web design, marketing, communications, etc.).

Schedule
Normal business hours are 9 am to 5 pm Mondays to Thursdays and 9 am to 4 pm on Fridays. Intern and Supervisor will establish a mutually acceptable, required interning schedule within normal business hours. Schedule is flexible and can be changed with supervisor’s prior permission.
Transportation
The intern will be responsible for arriving at the CNE office on time for all scheduled shifts. No transportation or transportations subsidies will be provided
