POSITION: DEPUTY DIRECTOR
SUPERVISOR: EARLY IMPACT VIRGINIA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
SUPERVISES: Applied Research Coordinator, CQI Coordinator, and Workforce Development Manager- Training/Coaching

POSITION SUMMARY:
Early Impact Virginia (EIV) effectively leverages resources through public-private partnership and collaboration to create a more comprehensive, coordinated home visiting system. Member programs include; CHIP of Virginia, Early Head Start, Family Spirit, Healthy Families Virginia, Healthy Start/Loving Steps, Nurse Family Partnership, Parents as Teachers and Resource Mothers.

The Deputy Director is a key leadership role providing strategic leadership of day-to-day program operations, supporting a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and organizational outcomes are met. The Deputy Director works closely with the Executive Director to implement the strategic plan, oversee programming, manage organizational growth, and represent the organization to stakeholders, partners, and the broader community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Lead implementation of the Strategic Growth Plan for Home Visiting in partnership with the Alliance for Early Childhood Home Visiting.

– Convene and facilitate Alliance for Early Childhood Home Visiting meetings and specific Action Teams designed to advance the work of the organization.

– Develop and maintain collaborative relationships among EIV Member and Partner organizations.

– Build and strengthen relationships with public sector agency partners and supporters.

– Coordinate with relevant early childhood initiatives to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape and home visiting integration opportunities.

– Oversee the analysis, reporting, and coordination for EIV’s overall data needs and data infrastructure in order to provide strategic state-level support.

– Direct statewide shared measurement and capacity building through strategic data, evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities.

– Convene and co-lead MIECHV Team meetings.

– Support strategic development and alignment of MIECHV-related information for local programs with input from VDH and model leads. Examples include: RFA, IPV statement, Orientation presentations, MIECHV Admin Manual, ARP presentation.

– Participate in activities required by HRSA for MIECHV grantees, including, but not limited to, site visit, check in calls with Program Officer and TAs, Region 3 open mics, TARC office hours, and the All Grantee Meeting.

– Support EIV routine and annual reporting activities, including grant reporting and GA progress reporting.

– Manage grant contracts and develop scopes of work.

– Work with the Executive Director to facilitate EIV’s annual strategic planning.

– Support the Executive Director in management and organizational development decisions.

– Assist in the development and management of the organization’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability.

– Support fund development activities in the following ways: provide support and guidance to partner organizations in aligning or leveraging mission-aligned resources; and other duties as assigned.

– Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
– Bachelor’s degree required with Master’s Degree preferred
– Experience with early childhood home visiting programs, program management, professional development, and evaluation experience preferred
– 5-7 years management experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

– Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
– Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies
– Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple work assignments
– Understanding of budgeting, financial management and grant management required
– Commitment to quality and accuracy
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse array of partners and stakeholders a must
– Ability to both think strategically and maintain focus on details in response to changing organizational priorities
– Incredible people skills and a demonstrated commitment to the value of diversity
– Ability to travel in Virginia and to national meetings in other states, sometimes overnight

LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS AND ENDORSEMENTS:
Possession of a valid driver’s license, vehicle for travel and vehicle insurance.
