We are seeking a Data & Research Coordinator for our client project: HOMES a growing, non-profit organization that uses an all-encompassing approach to housing challenging the misconceptions of what defines affordable housing through the production and preservation of high-quality affordable homes, large-scale home repairs, and improved accessibility and energy efficiency for existing homes. With oversight by the Director of Mission Advancement, the Data & Research Coordinator is responsible for the organization’s data analysis, research and reporting.
The organization budget is approximately $18M with about 50 employees located in Richmond, VA, with easy access on and off the Midlothian Turnpike and Chippenham Parkway. Go to www.projecthomes.org to learn more!
Job Duties
Summary of Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Internal Program Data Management
• Collaborate with each department to collect appropriate program data.
• Collaborate with program teams to track waiting list data.
• Create client and community feedback surveys and analyze results.
• Administer and oversee organizational databases to include, but not limited to: Apricot, OneDrive and Tableau.
Research External Data & Report Creation
• Produce and maintain dashboard reports for CEO and Board of Directors.
• Partner with marketing team to communicate data in digestible ways.
• Research and compile data from external sources that relates to project:HOMES’ mission.
• Provide opportunities for the organization to be better informed on current issues in affordable housing, equity, urban development, etc.
• Tie external data collection to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and community engagement goals.
• Assist program teams, Fund Development and Mission Advancement on data research needs.
• Special projects and requests, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
Key Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Data Analytics, Urban Studies or Public Administration desirable. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
• Experience in data management, collection or research reporting using systems (e.g., Apricot, Tableau or Microsoft Power BI); using data in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
• Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with standard office equipment.
• Successfully builds relationships by understanding organization and department goals and effectively communicating.
• Experience with federal, state or local housing programs and the communities served by project:HOMES desirable.
• Promotes and adheres to company’s mission, vision and values; policies and applicable laws in a fair and equitable manner.
• Familiarity with principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
• Represents the organization in a professional manner to all customers, vendors, and internal personnel.
• Typical schedule is Monday through Thursday 7 AM – 5 PM. Potential for some teleworking. Minimal to no overtime.
• Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.
