Description

The Coordinator will support the implementation and operation of the Cumberland PATH (Positive Attitudes Toward Health) pilot program, a fruit and vegetable voucher program supporting local access to healthy food. The pilot is a collaboration of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, Vouchers for Veggies/EatSF, and local community organizations. This role includes both internal coordination between Share Our Strength staff and Vouchers for Veggies staff, as well as communications and engagement with partners and program participants in the field. The Coordinator (Temp) will work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to support enrollment, participation, engagement and evaluation of the Cumberland PATH pilot program.

This part-time, temporary position (estimated 5-10 hours/week) will be based in Cumberland, VA, with a commitment of approximately 9 months.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with Share Our Strength, Vouchers for Veggies and local community organizations to promote the program, distribute materials/ information, and enroll pilot program participants, virtually and in person, if circumstances allow.
  • Partner with Share Our Strength, Vouchers for Veggies and community members to create and support an inclusive, welcoming program that is accessible to and respectful of community members and all other stakeholders.
  • Serve as key resource in day-to-day management of Cumberland PATH pilot.
  • Enter enrollment and survey information into Vouchers for Veggies Salesforce instance, in order to track program participation and experience.
  • Visit and liaise at least monthly with local vendors participating with paper vouchers, to collect vouchers that have been redeemed, answer questions from store owner/employees, provide information on pilot enrollment and assess how program is operating in store. Send any redeemed paper vouchers monthly to Vouchers for Veggies.
  • Serve as resource for program participants who have questions about redeeming vouchers, using their card, or other elements of the program (i.e. through phone, text).
  • Communicate regularly with program participants, including management of Cumberland PATH phone/email account, and responding to or passing on inquiries.
  • In collaboration with Share Our Strength and Vouchers for Veggies staff, manage end-of-pilot survey process and support evaluation efforts, including recruitment of program participants for focus groups and/or interviews.
  • Attend meetings (virtual and/or in-person) related to progress of the program, with Share Our Strength staff and other program partners, as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with Share Our Strength staff, and provide Share Our Strength with regular feedback on program operations and suggested changes throughout pilot program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years project management and/or relationship management experience.
  • Strong written and oral communications experience and excellent planning and follow through skills.
  • Ability to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by emotional intelligence.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a (virtual and live) team environment.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships, internally and externally.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to initiate, organize, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Strong computer skills in Google Workspace (i.e. Google Voice, Sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated interest in supporting access to healthy food in the community.
