The Clinical Nurse Manager, Assisted Living coordinates and participates in the delivery of nursing care and assists in completing documents required by the Department of Social Services to meet health needs of residents.  Supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing staff in performing effective nursing resident care.

Responsibilities

    • Establishes and maintains Assisted Living policies and procedures in accordance with the ALFA.
    • Conducts monthly meetings with the assisted living associates.
    • Maintains survey readiness information and does survey prep monthly.
    • Manages and oversees the 24-hour clinical operation of the Catered Living and Vista units.  This includes recruitment, supervision, monitoring and evaluating the work performance of nursing staff and all associated responsibilities related to the supervision of nursing staff.
    • Oversees and performs health care oversight as required by Assisted Living Standards, including the timely preparation and implementation of the Uniform Assessment Instrument (UAI) and Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
    • Conducts monthly clinical audits.
    • Plans and provides direct nursing care to residents; assigns and schedules nursing tasks to nursing staff.
    • Conducts rounds on all floors of Catered Living and Vista for quality assurance.
    • Responds to emergency and specialized resident care situations, evaluates nursing care practices and communicates to appropriate personnel, residents and/or responsible party information regarding the resident for proper care and care related concerns.
    • Assists with activities and other support services as necessary to ensure that resident needs are met.

Qualifications

    • Ability to complete multiple assignments with multiple deadlines on time and within budget.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects.
    • Familiarity with various software for nurse charting and communication.
    • Able to make verbal presentation to diverse groups and sizes of audiences.
    • Able to listen effectively to resident, caregivers, co-workers, and supervisor.
    • Must understand importance of and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
    • Exhibits a compassionate and professional demeanor that promotes goodwill among residents, caregivers, and co-workers.

Requirements

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered  Nurse (RN), Bachelors of Science, Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Unencumbered Virginia Nursing license.
    • Uniform Assessment Instrument (UAI) and Individual Service Plan (ISP) trained or obtain within six months of employment.
    • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience as a nurse.
    • CPR/First Aid Certified.
    • Wound certification (WCC) or must obtain within one year of employment.
    • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
