Description

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville seeks an executive level Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead Habitat’s fundraising efforts.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville (Habitat) is a cutting edge non-profit housing organization creating simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with low-income families, volunteers and the community of Greater Charlottesville. Homes are built with a volunteer labor force including homeowner families, corporate, civic, and church groups.

Habitat recently completed Sunrise, the first trailer park in the nation transformed into a mixed income community without resident displacement. On the horizon is the redevelopment of the Southwood Mobile Home Park, a national-level project virtually unprecedented in scale and ambition.

This position is a rare opportunity to join an organization that is challenging and transforming the model and assumptions for its field. You will need to be energized as a primary representative of an extremely high reward proposition. This isn’t the average development officer job. It is a chance to take a lead role in a paradigm shift that will have lasting, positive benefits for generations of families.

The CAO is a member of the senior leadership team and will work with the President/Chief Executive Officer, development staff, board members and other key stakeholders to create and execute an advancement strategy enabling Habitat to build a minimum of 20 new homes per year while preparing for a capital campaign to facilitate the redevelopment of Southwood.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and dynamic professional with a record of achievement in leadership and fundraising. The CAO must be an innovator who can confidently engage prospects and leverage the community’s passion for Habitat’s mission into the resources necessary to achieve its goals.
