Description

The Downtown Crozet Initiative, located in Crozet VA seeks a Capital Campaign Manager to join our team. The Capital Campaign Manager will implement and manage all aspects of a planned $1.2m Capital Campaign through early 2025, including all solicitation phases of the campaign, event planning, cultivation, and campaign publications/communications.  The Campaign Manager is responsible for campaign strategy, managing prospect lists, developing and executing solicitation strategies, preparing grant applications, donor interface, reporting to the DCI Board, and coordinating board members and volunteers for this campaign.

Job Duties

  • Work with the Capital Campaign Steering Committee to finalize campaign strategy and plans
  • Provide leadership to assure that campaign activity and plans are met
  • Plan and run steering committee meetings
  • Manage donor visits and solicitations alone and with steering committee or board members
  • Identify prospects on the individual, corporation, and foundation levels
  • Manage the grants process with other staff and volunteers
  • Identify and cultivate steering committee members
  • Create and edit campaign communications, acknowledgments, follow-up letters, and newsletters
  • Devise and manage logistics for events and publicity, as appropriate with the campaign staff
  • Reports to the Chair of the Steering Committee; prepare reports as needed to the Board

Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of development experience, preferably with a nonprofit or capital campaign, including management and oversight, cultivation, solicitation, grant writing, communications, and events.

–      Development or contact database experience is preferred

Candidates should have an appreciation and understanding of DCI’s mission, as well as the role of the Crozet Plaza in revitalizing downtown Crozet.

Work Schedule

Part-time: 10-20 hours per week from early 2024 thru end of the campaign early/mid 2025. Position will include local travel and some evenings and events.

This is a part-time, temporary contract position.  Pay rate will depend upon time commitment, experience, qualifications.
