Description
The seasonal position of Camp Leader – Therapeutics provides equal opportunity for youth, teens, and young adults, ages 8-21, with disabilities to attend a camp program in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Camp Leaders are actively involved, have a positive attitude, serve as a role model and assist the Camp Director in the management of the overall camp operations.
Position requires 40 hours weekly, June 10-July 15, between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm. May work Specialty Camps July 18-August 5.

Skills Required
Minimum Qualifications:
– Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. (One year of work experience may substitute for one year of education, up to a maximum two years substitution.)
– At least 2 months of experience working with children, young adults or adults with disabilities in a recreation, education, or related setting.
Special Requirement:
– Must be at least 18 years of age.
– May be required to get certified to drive a wheelchair bus.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Prefer at least one year of work or volunteer experience with youth with disabilities.
– CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
– Possession of a valid appropriate driver’s permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred.
