On Our Own is a peer run organization that provides free peer support, self-help, education, guidance, advocacy and referral services for adults who have experienced significant problems in their lives due to challenges with mental health, substance use or trauma. Historically, OOO's board has been composed of peers, mental health and substance use professionals. In this past year we have committed ourselves to broadening the board to include professionals with experience in the legal/criminal justice system, finance and small business. We meet once a month on the third Monday at 5:00pm via zoom or in person. Prior board experience preferred but not required. Term limits are two years with the option to renew.
