Head Cook

Description

JABA is seeking Head Cook for its Hillsdale Drive location in Charlottesville. The Head Cook is responsible for the preparation of nutritious meals for JABA’s Adult Care Center, Shining Star Pre-School, Community Centers, and in-house catering. Responsible for menu development, general upkeep of the kitchen, ordering supplies, maintaining product inventory, and supervising assistant cook. Must have prior applicable experience in a small sized kitchen facility and proficiency using standard kitchen equipment. Certification in food sanitation management and preparation is preferred, required within 6 months. Must have strong organization skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to bend, stand for extended periods of time, and lift at least 30 pounds. This is a fulltime position, Monday – Friday. Benefits consist of health insurance, retirement and paid leave.

Monday – Friday – 5:30am to 1:00pm.
