Description

Charlottesville T’ai Chi Center (CTCC) is looking for an experienced part time Full Charge Bookkeeper, ~20 hours per month. A/R, AP, Payroll, Grant and Donation tracking, monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts, quarterly financial reports to the BOD, assist in creating annual budget, sales tax reporting, and providing detail management reports as requested by staff and BOD.

• Enter all financial transactions into QuickBooks Online
• Record all revenue and expense – PayPal, Stripe, checks, auto debits & credits
• Process and pay staff reimbursements (usually through PayPal) and incoming bills (3-5/month)
• Create and send monthly invoices to 15-20 customers
• Monthly payroll for 2 employees (QBO) and ~15 monthly contractors (all direct deposit)
• Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
• Track all donations per donor and email yearly tax deduction letters
• Track contractor expenses appropriately and process end of year 1099s
• Maintain appropriate backup documentation for all transactions
• Prepare quarterly financial reports for Board and committee reports as requested
• Perform periodic payroll and sales tax reporting
• Prepare books for annual tax reporting with outside accountant
• Assist with creating annual budget
• General oversight of accounting procedures

Skills Required

• Prefer previous experience with nonprofit bookkeeping and compliance
• Proficiency with software: QuickBooks Online, Excel, Word, Google Sheets
• Ability to navigate PayPal, Stripe, Zoom and other web-based platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with others
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial data
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

• Solid understanding of nonprofit accounting principles

 

Work Schedule

• Most work can be done remotely at flexible times
• Work responsibilities entail approximately 20 hours per month
• Work with Managing Director and Treasurer as needed, remotely
• Work with grant writer twice a year, remotely

CTCC is a well-established local 501c3 educational nonprofit organization that has served the greater Charlottesville area for over 20 years. Our mission is to teach and promote the art of Taiji Quan (T’ai Chi Chuan), along with related internal martial arts, following the Cheng Ming system as taught by Great Grandmaster Wang Shu Jin. We offer regular classes at our own dojo (studio) and in various locations throughout the community.
