Description

Are you ready to build meaningful relationships while advancing a mission that matters? We’re seeking a dynamic Development Officer for Individual and Corporate Giving to lead our fundraising efforts and expand our community of supporters at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library in historic Staunton, Virginia. This position is ideal for a development professional with 3+ years of experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility and advance their career while helping shape our future through strategic relationship building and innovative development initiatives.

The Development Officer for Individual and Corporate Giving plays a vital role in supporting the museum’s fundraising efforts, with a primary focus on individual giving and business/corporate sponsorships. The successful candidate will have demonstrated fundraising success, excellent relationship-building skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting the museum’s mission and goals.

As part of our team, you’ll work in a setting where history comes alive — not just in our galleries and archives, but through dynamic programs, special events, and meaningful engagement with supporters who share a passion for education, civic dialogue, and cultural preservation. You’ll have the chance to help shape the future of the museum by building relationships with donors who make our work possible.

Located in Staunton’s vibrant downtown, the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library campus includes Wilson’s birthplace home, a fully accredited museum, library and archives. We’re proud members of the American Alliance of Museums, the American Association for State and Local History, the Virginia Association of Museums, and the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience.

We offer a mission-driven culture rooted in scholarship, public service, and lifelong learning; a supportive team environment where your ideas and contributions are valued; and the charm of Staunton’s vibrant arts scene, walkable downtown, and beautiful Shenandoah Valley surroundings.
