Description
The Mission Investment Manager, in partnership with members of the Mission Investment & Communications team, will manage individual donor cultivation, special events fundraising, and donor engagement for Piedmont Housing Alliance in order to steward and expand the organization’s donor base. The Mission Investment Manager reports to the Director of Mission Investment & Communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with the organization’s strategic goals, including:
• Execute a targeted strategy for cultivating relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Support efforts to increase monthly donor acquisition and retention.
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit new prospects with interests aligned with Piedmont Housing Alliance’s mission.
• Represent Piedmont Housing Alliance at events and community outreach initiatives to promote awareness of the organization and its mission.
• Spearhead a robust donor stewardship program to ensure a positive giving experience and retain and cultivate individual donors and private foundations. Includes planning and execution of stewardship events such as groundbreakings, ribbon-cuttings, and hardhat tours.
• Lead the planning, development, and execution of annual fundraising events and campaigns, collaborating with other departments as needed, including:
• Design and execute at least two annual fundraising campaigns intended to garner financial support and raise the organization’s profile.
• Work with the Communications Manager to develop messaging and strategies that support fundraising events.
• Cultivate relationships with existing and potential vendors for in-kind discounts and contributions.
• Manage fundraising data analysis and strategy, including:
• Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to accurately track individual, foundation, and corporate donors.
• Track and analyze fundraising data to measure progress, assess trends, and explore opportunities for grant applications, identify areas for improvement, and assess return on investment for campaigns.
• Manage a fundraising calendar to maximize impact and ensure deadlines are met.
• Support the Executive Director and Director of Mission Investment & Communications in preparing for Board meetings, including organizing the agenda and accompanying documents, taking meeting minutes, and managing communications with Board committees.
• Work collaboratively across the organization to develop case statements and other fundraising materials.
• Strengthen organizational culture by engaging in full staff activities, contributing to a culture of openness and respect, and actively identifying, evaluating, and dismantling the beliefs and structures that perpetuate racial inequities.
• Participate in and contribute to staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
While this position manages several vital areas of our work, it is not our expectation that candidates have a mastery across all areas; instead, we encourage candidates to apply who have self-awareness and humility around areas they will need to grow in and the motivation and aptitude to lead the learning required to hit the ground running.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in fundraising or client services, with a proven track record of success fundraising and event management preferred.
• Proficiency in fundraising software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) preferred.
• Event planning and management experience a plus.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite, Canva, WordPress, and Microsoft Suite.
• Must be abreast of emerging technologies, fundraising best practices, and trends in the development arena.
• Must own or consistently have a vehicle available for use for local and out of area travel as needed.
