The Link is a non-profit volunteer-based organization serving residents of Lancaster and Northumberland Counties assisting our most vulnerable inhabitants by helping with housing, basic-need financial situations, and employment preparation and support. We offer not just a short-term financial boost, but real mentoring and coaching to move people toward self-sufficiency.
We are looking for a passionate, mission-driven leader as our Non-Profit Executive Director to work with our Board of Directors to guide our organization forward by handling major networking, financial planning, personnel development, and program implementation. This position will also include assisting with volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and grant writing activities. This full-time position is for immediate hire and reports to a supportive and professional Board of Directors. This community-service-oriented position requires a leader who is focused on leading hands-on operations, fostering growth, and encouraging future endeavors. Funding for this position is made possible with a grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund.
• Ultimately, you will work with various volunteer/paid staff, and professionals within The Link, local church partners, and other supportive outside affiliations to ensure we can serve our community needs and continue to strengthen our abilities for future success.
• The ability to travel around our two-county area reaching benefactors, employers, and job seekers is a necessary part of this job.

Job Duties
Responsibilities and Duties of the Executive Director
GENERAL:
The Executive Director supports all functional areas of Link operations working closely with the President and Board Members for successful and efficient execution on the Link’s purpose and mission statement. The following general areas are key to continuing Link success:
• Effectively represent the organization and promote a positive organizational image
• Fundraising
• Grant writing
• Community Networking (will involve some weekends)
• Staffing development and Personnel training/management
• Program development/implementation/management

Skills Required
Qualifications for the Executive Director
• Passion to help/serve – Must understand and embrace The Link’s mission and purposes
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in relevant disciplines such as (but not limited to) psychology, counseling, management, sociology, business management, etc.
• Documented experience in successfully running a non-profit organization
• Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries to accomplish the mission
• Flexibility, wearing multiple hats to get the job done, handling administrative tasks, program management and strategic planning simultaneously
• Availability outside normal business hours or days on occasion
• Adaptability to change, both internal and externally driven
• Budget preparation and execution skills
• Knowledge of the Lancaster and Northumberland County demographics and social service infrastructure
• People management skills in both paid and volunteer staff environments
• Documented effective communication (speaking and writing), relationship-building, and networking skills in social service and faith-based organizations
• Detail-oriented organizational skills
• Proficiency working with computer software, including Microsoft Office, and video conferencing (Zoom)
• Must have own transportation to travel around Lancaster and Northumberland counties as required to meet/work with benefactors, employers, other nonprofit organizations, and Link partner organizations
Work Schedule
Full time which may include weekends where necessary to speak with our church partners and to represent The Link at local job fairs and farmer’s markets. Total hours NTE 40 with flexibility to accommodate weekend requirements.
