CIMA seeks a part-time (20 hours per week) teammate to support our firm’s business development initiatives. This position will play an integral role in implementing processes to support client prospecting, lead generation, strategic partnerships, market research, and marketing strategy for a growing consulting firm. The Business Development Manager should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and a great communicator who is able to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Working closely with our Director of Business Development and Client Success, responsibilities include:
– Supporting prospective client outreach and communication, the development of customized scopes of work and other collateral, and the coordination of Business Development and client-onboarding processes
– Prospecting new client and partnership opportunities through web scraping, research, initial outreach emails, and follow-up
– Supporting moves management through the Business Development and Client Success Notion space
– Supporting current marketing and communications needs while researching new online and networking opportunities for increased engagement with prospective clients and partners
– Organizing and evaluating data and research, including market research/analysis for Business
– Development and Client Success
Job Duties
Prospecting new client opportunities:
– Managing CIMA’s web scraping and RSS feed prospecting process
– Generating 8-10 regular weekly prospecting emails and follow-up emails
– Managing Notion data entry to ensure all current prospect info is logged
– Generating initial prospective client notes/memos with compiled research and key questions/items to address during an initial call
– Attending client prospecting calls and managing meeting notes
– Drafting customized scopes of work for prospective clients
– Creating Business Development and general marketing collateral
– Supporting consultant team formation, communication, and coordination of client onboarding processes
– Supporting ongoing build-out of Business Development and Client Success Notion space
– Organizing and evaluating data and research:
– Market research/analysis for Business Development
– Client data collection and analysis for Client Success
Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have:
– Experience working in or with non-profits, including roles related to fundraising, donor relations, or business development
– Ability to take initiative in identifying new client opportunities, improving processes, and exploring new engagement or marketing strategies
– Proven success in process management, administrative coordination, and/or a track record of performing a wide variety of administrative, writing, and research tasks in a collaborative environment
– Proven ability to independently collect, manage, and interpret information from multiple sources
– Experience working in a remote environment and using standard office software/platforms and databases (Excel, Drive, Slack, Notion, etc), including automated RSS integrations and web scraping tools for prospecting
– A demonstrated appreciation for or commitment to the nonprofit and social impact sector

Work Schedule
This position is part-time with potential for transition to full-time pending client needs and fit at CIMA.

Depending on experience and qualifications, candidates may be hired at an Associate level.

Our team is primarily based in Charlottesville and surrounding areas, but we have a hybrid, flexible-work schedule. While our preference is for team members to be based in Charlottesville, qualified candidates wishing to work remotely will be considered.
