Are you a dynamic leader with deep connections to our community? Do you have a passion for philanthropy and a proven track record in nonprofit leadership? The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Executive Director to drive our mission forward.
About the Role: As the Executive Director, you will report directly to the Board of Directors and work closely with its Executive Committee to lead NPCF in achieving its goals. You will play a crucial role in increasing our donor base, building strong community relationships, and managing the foundation’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Expand Donor Base: Engage prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, and nonprofits, through proposals and presentations. Develop and sustain a donor cultivation program.
* Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with local organizations, represent NPCF at key events, and create opportunities to promote nonprofit capacity building.
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans, manage funds and investments, and act as a liaison to the Board and its committees.
* Operational Management: Oversee staff, volunteers, and consultants, manage financial records, and ensure accountability and transparency.
Qualifications:
*Minimum of five years of senior-level experience in the nonprofit sector.
*Strong understanding of accounting best practices and systems.
*Familiarity with the community foundation model and grant-making processes.
*Excellent public speaking and community engagement skills.
*Proven ability to collaborate with volunteers, Board members, and community leaders.
*A visionary leader with a deep commitment to philanthropy and the community.

Job Duties
Increase NPCF’s donor base through:
*Educating prospective donors, including individuals, corporations and nonprofit organizations, through written proposals and personal presentations outlining NPCF’s services and programs.
*Developing and sustaining a prospect research and donor cultivation program to identify potential new donors and any estate planning advisors they utilize.
*Coordinating solicitation plans for the Board and donors to approach individuals, corporations and nonprofit organizations.
*Maintaining relationships with current donors that invest with NPCF to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and continued support.
Establish a strong knowledge of the needs of the communities served by NPCF through:
*Organizing programs, meetings and seminars that keep the professional community advised of the activities and services of NPCF.
*Establishing good working relationships with other philanthropic, industry, service and governmental organizations.
*Representing NPCF at community, regional and national meetings.
*Creating opportunities for NPCF to serve as a promoter of nonprofit capacity building in region and state.
Professionally manage the operation of NPCF through:
*Developing and carrying out strategic and operational plans for fund management, development including planned giving, and investment management.
*Defining with Board of Directors a vision for the future and developing plans necessary to accomplish.
*Serving as liaison to all committees of the Board of Directors with responsibility for implementing all actions taken.
*Conducting research, provide information and analysis, and formulate recommendations to the Board of Directors on policy decisions and program development.
*Supervising the work of staff, volunteers, and consultants.
*Overseeing all financial records and systems related to accountability and reporting.
