About Us: The Companion Animal Fund (CAF) is dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals through funding initiatives, awareness campaigns, and community engagement. Our mission is to support animal welfare organizations, provide grants for veterinary care, and promote responsible pet ownership. Our current focus is on Trap Neuter & Release (TNR) for local feral cats and providing pet food to clients of several local nonprofit organizations including Loaves & Fishes and Meals on Wheels. Position Overview: The Companion Animal Fund is seeking a passionate and experienced volunteer to join our board of directors. We are looking for an individual skilled in social media management, with a strong background in event planning and fundraising. As a board member, you will play a critical role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, enhancing our public presence, and supporting our fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Social Media Management:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase CAF’s online presence and engagement.
• Create, curate, and manage content across CAF’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics to measure success and make data-driven decisions.
• Event Planning and Execution:
• Plan, organize, and execute fundraising and awareness events, both virtual and in-person.
• Coordinate with vendors, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
• Develop event marketing materials and campaigns to maximize participation and donations.
• Fundraising:
• Collaborate with the board and staff to develop and implement fundraising strategies and goals.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
• Assist in grant writing and securing sponsorships for events and programs.
• Board Member Duties:
• Attend and actively participate in board meetings (frequency of meetings to be determined).
• Provide strategic guidance and support to the organization’s initiatives and programs.
• Serve as an ambassador for CAF in the community and at events.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
• Strong background in event planning, coordination, and execution.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor cultivation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for animal welfare and commitment to CAF’s mission.
• Ability to work collaboratively with board members, staff, and volunteers.
Commitment:
• Approximately 5 hours per month.
• Attend regular board meetings and special events as needed.
