Job Overview:  The IRC in Charlottesville is looking for a driven and dynamic Family Wellbeing Supervisor for our growing office. This key role is responsible for managing and improving the provision of direct services to IRC participants, focusing on supporting the wellbeing, health, mental health of all client family members. The Family Wellbeing Supervisor is tasked with planning and implementing programming, coordinating core service delivery, ensuring program goals are met, as well as budgetary, compliance and reporting responsibilities The supervisor also manages a team of staff and AmeriCorps members.

 

Job Duties

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Staff Management

  • Provide leadership, development support, and supervision to direct service staff by leading team meetings, providing individual supervision, coaching and goal setting, managing workload and prioritizing tasks, and helping staff troubleshoot challenges.
  • Ensure compliance of the teams with all policies, procedures, and protocols.

Client Services

  • Actively participate and oversee the implementation and management of programs to ensure all requirements and IRC standards of care are met.
  • Maintain close communication with staff regarding challenging cases and carry out timely, professional interventions to ensure appropriate service delivery.
  • Provide oversight of active caseload, maintaining close communication with resettlement and employment staff regarding challenging cases.

Compliance Documentation

  • Ensure all programs fulfill funder and agency requirements for documentation, case files, data tracking and other areas of administrative compliance.
  • Coordinate quality assurance efforts by conducting periodic case file and electronic data reviews.
  • Assist with the preparation for all monitoring visits including IRC, state, and federal agencies.
  • Produce high-quality program reports for IRC headquarters and funders in a timely manner. 
  • Assist in grant writing activities and development of new program opportunities.

Partnership Building

  • Represent IRC’s Family Wellbeing programs in the local community; develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations such as public and private schools, local departments of social services, Head Start, medical providers, Region Ten Community Service Board, The Women’s Initiative and other providers of affordable access to mental health services, Child Health Partnership and agencies serving women and children, with the goal of connecting clients with needed benefits and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

Requirements:

  • University degree (B.A.) required, preferably in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum three years of experience implementing refugee resettlement, community health services, or similar programs.
  • Experience supervising, supporting, and training staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality.  Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English; proficiency in a language spoken by client populations a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to personal, insured, vehicle, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area

Work Schedule

Working Environment:

  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
