Are you a seasoned fundraising professional with a passion for making a significant impact? If you have a proven track record of cultivating major donors and securing transformational gifts, we invite you to apply for the position of Director of Major Gifts at Hospice of the Piedmont.

Responsibilities/General Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of 100 major and planned gift prospects, developing strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to fulfill donor interests and passions and increase financial support for Hospice of the Piedmont.
• Collaboration: Work with the Chief Marketing and Development Officer and program directors/staff to secure project information for creating proposals, fundraising case statements, and inspiring and facilitating donors’ support.
• Prospect Engagement: Assist in the identification, qualification, and cultivation of major gift prospects ($10,000+) through personal visits and high-level hosted gatherings.
• Stewardship Planning: Develop and execute strategic stewardship plans for individual and select foundation donors, working with program staff to provide stewardship reports as needed.
• Data Management: Capture pertinent information on donors and prospects in Raiser’s Edge to document, enhance, and steward relationships.
• Messaging and Materials: Develop written and digital messaging and materials to support planned giving at Hospice of the Piedmont.
• Communication Oversight: Oversee communications, proper documentation, and reporting/acknowledgment of all planned gifts.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner with the Chief Marketing and Development Officer for annual major and planned giving benchmarking, program analysis, and metrics of success.
• Ethical Standards: Maintain accountability standards and ensure compliance with ethical principles and codes of professional conduct for fundraising executives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE certification preferred.
• Experience: Seasoned senior development professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in major gift fundraising and planned giving, showcasing a proven track record of closing six-figure solicitations.
• Mission Alignment: Results-driven individual who passionately believes in the mission of Hospice of the Piedmont.
• Skills: Strong organizational and relationship management skills; ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects on a timely basis. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook suite. Excellent written and verbal communication. Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge preferred.
