This position will be charged with helping us develop and steward relationships with our local schools and community partners with a focus on promoting healthcare careers and building pipelines and pathways to career seekers interested in Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, or more generally speaking, pursuing a healthcare career. This position has the potential to transform workforce development opportunities in our community and encourage more young people to pursue healthcare careers.

Job Duties

Understanding and communicating SMJH’s strategic imperatives and career opportunities, as well as tuition assistance programs and loan forgiveness programs.

Articulating the value proposition of being an SMJH employee.

Explaining and engaging community members in the many healthcare career opportunities in our community.

Skills Required

Demonstrated experience in community development, planning and execution. Demonstrated experience in social media, financial analysis, database management, and promotions planning. Demonstrated experience with use of social media, website management, and community engagement.

Familiarity of healthcare career pathways and educational requirements.

Great communication skills, both written and verbal.  Experience creating marketing and sales documents to engage the community.

Work Schedule

Primarily M-F between 8-5pm, with some evening and weekend work.
