Description
Innisfree is a nonprofit voluntary community with about 40 adults with intellectual disabilities
and 30 volunteers and staff living in 15 houses and working in several community buildings,
located north of Crozet on a 550 acre farm.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the interior and exterior physical appearance and
upkeep of all our community buildings, houses and facilities. In a proactive fashion, ensures
that facilities meet Innisfree Village’s standards for integrity, quality and functioning through
the oversight, sharing and completion of work orders, turnovers, and projects in a timely and
safe manner.
Job Duties
- Manages maintenance facilities and upkeep for Innisfree Village in a timely
manner while adhering to all applicable government regulations and Innisfree’s
policies and procedures and standards including safety. - Maintains a safe and organized work environment. Immediately addresses any
safety concerns for residents, volunteers and visitors. - Prioritizes and schedules the workweek.
- Schedules and oversees all service contracts and assures annual and
semiannual inspections as required for fire extinguishers, furnaces, AC and
generators for the year. - Replaces water filters, air filters, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, hot water heaters,
household appliances as needed per inspections and W/O’s. - Cleans gutters, pressure washes porches, and takes larger trash to the dump.
- Maintains swimming pool and swimming pool area during swim season including
chemicals and cleanliness - Assists with yearly budgeting process by gathering quotes from contractors and
helping to determine what projects or purchases are most important
Skills Required
- Extensive knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in
building maintenance and repair work - Ability to coordinate work of alterations, modifications, maintenance and repairs
within the facilities day to day activities - Ability to delegate, communicate and supervise the work of other members of the
maintenance team - Ability to make accurate estimates of labor and material requirements for building
upkeep - Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional, and collaborative
relationships. - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to motivate employees and self while maintaining a positive work
atmosphere. - Excellent time management and attention to detail. Required documents must be
collected and submitted punctually and accurately. - Maintains respectful, courteous and positive relationships with residents with intellectual disabilities.
Work Schedule
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend Emergency On call hours
Additional Info
Minimum education and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years’ experience in construction and 2
years in supervisory capacity - Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
- Must be able to meet the requirements of a Drug Free Workplace
