Overview

On behalf of our client, we are conducting a search for RampsRVA’s next Managing Director. As part of the community for over 15 years, RampsRVA is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization with a mission to help the less fortunate by paying for and assembling modular wheelchair ramps for those people who are in need and have qualified for financial assistance in the Richmond area. The full time Managing Director will set strategy, provide volunteer oversight, and supervise one or two part-time administrative support staff. Reports to the board of directors. Job Duties

Summary of Job Responsibilities and Requirements
• Entrusted with the autonomy to achieve annual goals and mission
• Responsible for managing annual budget which has growth potential
• Identify new partnerships and maintain existing relationships with foundations, corporations, hospitals, rehab facilities, government agencies, county officials, donors, media avenues, and RampsRVA alumni
• Implement and manage the marketing strategies
• Develop and manage fundraising initiatives
• Fulfill all necessary administrative duties
• Effective communication with staff and board
• Protect the organization’s reputation and brand
• Performs additional responsibilities related to the success of the organization

Skills Required

Key Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
• Three years minimum not-for-profit management experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress a plus
• Background in community engagement / human services
• Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor management
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, budget management, and task facilitation
• Demonstrated experience in creative problem solving and critical thinking
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in Public Relations, working with the general public and media desirable
• Marketing experience a plus
• Financial Reporting and Analysis a plus
• Generally, Mon. – Fri. office, on occasion weekends and eves for community outreach; Flex schedule!
• Ability and willingness to participate at ramp build sites (as needed) to support the core of the mission!
• Successfully complete pre-employment background screening
