Mission Statement
Overall Goal
To cure the inheritance of Aniridia syndrome and the ophthalmic and systemic issues which make up this condition
Immediate Goal
To help those children and adults born with low vision by working to improve medical care and understanding, to raise funds and collect research data to help advance research, and to pursue better treatments and services to enable them to have a healthy, independent life.
Everyday Goal
To promote awareness among the public and medical community through educational and fundraising programs, and to dispel misconceptions of disabilities, especially visual. In addition, to pursue and unite people with Aniridia syndrome and create an International Aniridia Medical Registry which will collect data to help both the Aniridia syndrome community and the general population who both live with the ophthalmic and systemic conditions that we share.
Being subset of the low vision and blind community and empathetic with others who live with eye diseases as we do, we have pledged to help people with the same visual and systemic problems through specific programs in which our needs are compatible.
