    The United Way Laurence E. Richardson Day of Caring registration is now open for public schools, nonprofits and volunteer teams! The 22nd annual United Way Day of Caring will take place on September 18, 2013 and planning is well underway!     The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) is encouraging small charities, those with annual gross receipts of $50,000 or less, to participate in a conference call hosted by the Office of Senator Mark Warner and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on April 23, 2013 from 5 to 6 p.m.  The conference call will focus on the automatic revocation of a charity’s federal tax-exempt status when the charity fails to file annual returns with the IRS for three... read full article

    CNE is thrilled to welcome Dana Hecht as our new Program and Outreach Manager! Dana has a Bachelor's degree from UVA and a Master's of Public Policy with a focus on program evaluation from George Washington University. Dana most recently worked as a Program Analyst at Keep America Beautiful where she helped compose an organizational plan aimed at improving metrics collection and performance measurement for KAB's programs.
