Member Spotlight: Mountaintop Montessori
Mountaintop makes the most of it's lush Pantops campus by giving students ample time to flex their muscles and get their hands dirty working in the garden and greenhouse and to simply feel the grass between their toes. During spring and summer breaks this accredited Montessori school hosts kids from all over the area for seed camp. Campers delight in gardening, harvesting and cooking fresh food, hiking, crafts, music, art, outdoor games, local stream exploration, and weekly field trips to nearby natural areas and farms. Explorations and learning are unified by the interrelated themes of food, health, environment and culture. Full and partial scholarships make an seed an accessible local option for families that couldn't otherwise provide this kind of old-school camp experience for their kids.
