Development Director

JOB DESCRIPTION: Jefferson Area CHiP, an independent non-profit with a staff of 23 and an annual budget of $1,287,000, seeks a Development Director to plan and implement its fund-raising and public relations activities. JACHiP, headquartered in Charlottesville, with satellite offices in Palmyra and Louisa, promotes the health and well-being of children in our community through home-visiting services. The program targets at-risk children and pregnant women. The development position is a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to help us work towards healthy kids and healthy homes in our community by heightening public identity and increasing private funding for this long standing organization.

Working closely with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, the selected candidate will manage and implement programs that build public awareness and generate revenue from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Responsibilities include the support of our Annual Fund; establishment of a Major Gifts program; overseeing and maintaining the web and print presence; exploring grant opportunities and planning and overseeing special events. Experience in GiftWorks a plus. Salary commensurate with experience.
