Position Description
Shenandoah National Park Trust is the official philanthropic partner of Shenandoah National Park. We are headquartered in Charlottesville. We are recruiting board members to fulfill these roles:
1. Public Relations: develop PR plan; cultivate relationships with key media outlets and other communication channels; pitch stories to keep up our organization's name recognition
2. Social Media: identify appropriate social media platforms for our organization; serve as administrator for those platforms (we currently have a Facebook and Twitter presence only)
3. Fundraising: identify major donor prospects; provide entree for executive director; participate in donor visits/solicitations and donor stewardship
Our board members offer a diversity of talents and share a committment to ensuring that Shenandoah remains a national treasure for generations to come.

Meeting Schedule
Our board meets three times/year at various locations, including in the national park. Each board member serves on at least two committees, which meet/teleconference as needed.

A board position with Shenandoah National Park Trust offers a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with the National Park Service to support a national gem that is right here in our own backyard. Because we provide direct financial support to Shenandoah National Park, our board members and donors get to enjoy, first-hand, the projects and programs they help bring to fruition. The Trust is an active and vibrant organization, offering myriad opportunities for invovlement, including a hiking club, behind-the-scenes events in the national park and more.
